House for Sale

Alas, the time has come, if now (Spring 2023) in a declining real estate economy, to do a test marketing–before going on to Zillow–of my spacious GEMO (Golden Eagle Manzanita Oaks) house that I have been building and living in for about 33 years. It’s a bit too large and demanding for my current needs now in later years, and I have been planning to move to southwest Colorado for some time to be with my dear sweet lady full time, and the improvements on the house and premises are finally finished enough (or at least as much as I am going to be able to do on my watch) so that the intent to sell can be announced … to see if there’s anyone out there who might (or surely would) like to take up residence on these lovely acres that really are “a park-like setting” (Yosemite about 50 miles away). Please, no offers or inquiries other than from serious buyers with pre-arranged, self-financed or prequalified financing arrangements in place and with sufficient or committed off-grid solar power lifestyle knowledge to make the move to the glorious but rural California Motherlode (a little like Lake Tahoe but easier and closer–skiing an hour up the hill and nice warm weather half that down the hill). The house water and power systems are fairly well automated but yet require a fair amount of maintenance and work at minimum to supply wood stove backup heating (but it’s greatly worth it for the necessarily able-bodied lucky one, couple or (?) whoever can manage the acquisition and love the lifestyle).
